Dating from around 1760 this wonderful item is made of Bellmetal brass with a fine turned Treen handle. The head is hinged so the sitter can hold the meat to face the fire. The three pairs of spikes are made of steel. The whole item is of superb quality and the only one like this I have come across over the years.  It would hang well on a wall being compact.
