Rare set of 19th Cent Whitbread Brewery Copper Measures.

Marked WHITBREAD & CO, 1 Pint, 1/2 Pint, 3/8 Pint, 1/4 Pint, 1/8 Pint.

Established in 1742, Whitbread is one of the UK’s oldest and well-respected companies.

The company adopted the name Whitbread & Co Ltd in 1799 and these measures certainly date from the earlier part of the 1800s.

Very rare to get these in copper and also to have survived as a matching set. The 1 pint is the most well worn and has had various dents over the years. The 1/2 Pint and the 3/8 Pint have had some early rim repairs with an extra strip of copper added again all in the 19th century. The smallest measures are the least used and best condition.
