Antique Shepherd's Leg Crook. Ash shaft.
Quite a strong heavy iron head, you can see how the iron has been folded in it's construction. Probably for a heavier, stronger breed of sheep.
Single swirl design typical of East Anglia region.
The Leg Crook was the everyday walking crook used by the shepherd on a daily basis and designed to catch the sheep in one swift action at the top of the leg.
