Fine larger-size 19th cent Shepherd's Clucket Bell on wooden yoke. The bell measures 11cm at the mouth and has it's original clapper.
There is minimal evidence remaining of brass on part of the bell. When these were first made they were coated in brass to improve the resonance. This wore off quickly with use but sometimes some of the thicker blobs remain.
The yoke has wooden pegs or Lockyers which are also hand-carved and all antique leather.
The shepherd owned the crook bells and lantern whereas the master owned the flock etc.
