Scarce Blacksmith-made 18th century Irish wrought iron harnen stand, used in front of a fire for drying oat cakes/ oat breads. This is the largest one I have ever seen. It has rows of stylistic curls that may symbolise water? It has the typical fold-out support bar back stand with twisted decoration. These have now got very scarce and make attractive features in an inglenook or hearth wall.
