Fine Victorian Watercolour

We have owned this painting for over 50 years. I remember my mother buying it from an antique dealer when I was a child. This lovely pastoral scene has wonderful colours and detail from the cabbages to the flying doves. It is monogrammed ER but I know nothing about who this artist is. There may be more information on the pack of the artwork but I am not taking the frame apart as it is so neat and tidy.

The painting is very well observed and the artist has created the perfect balance of composition of a typical cottage garden scene. I very much expect it to be a Sussex, Surrey or Kent scene with the half boarded house.

Currently we are offering it for sale but it may well be that it returns to another wall, so if you are considering it don't hesitate for too long, as I am still very much attached to it!
