Fine 19th Cent Folk Art Crusie Lamp with lovely Bird decoration. This is a double cup Crusie Lamp, the lower cup merely to catch the hot drips of oil. A simple wick made of lint, rag or string sat in the top inner spout and drew on the fish oil or similar in the font.
Each back plate is nitialled 'S'. The lamp is suspended by a long twisted hook. These lamps often hung at the side of an Inglenook to give poratable lighting. Very nice decorative example.
