This brass spit jack is in excellent condition and comes complete with its original key, cast iron spit wheel and a superb fretwork brass wall bracket. A really striking piece when hung by a fireplace. Meat or fish hung from the wheel using hooks. This would then turn one way, click, and turn the opposite direction. Used for cooking and smoking meat by an open fire.
