This collection of original gamekeeper's dummy Partridge eggs and all hand painted. The gamekeeper would go around with a wooden box with a metal tank in the base that was filled with hot water. When he found a partridge nesting he would take the eggs and replace them with the wooden ones to keep the bird nesting, and laying, (the bird could easily lay upto 30 eggs). The live eggs were wrapped in a blanket in the warm box and transported back to be hatched by the gamekeeper. These dummy eggs are very scarce to find.
