Rare Gamekeeper's Hawk Kite
Code: 14281
SOLD
A rare item, this hawk kite folds down and came with this bamboo case with whipping. These kites were used to fly over the moors and meadows, to keep the partridge down thus allowing shooters to get within range before alighting. I would guess early 1900s and possibly handmade. This is only the second one I have seen in over 40 years (the other is in my collection!)
