A Roberts dogless Gin Trap. The rear of the plate latches directly onto the trap jaws holding them open. This meant the trap could virtually be set with one hand holding the spring down anf flipping the jaws open. The Catch then set itself.
Patented in 1933 by J. Roberts of Wednesfield, who where acquired by W.G Sidebotham around the same time.
