Stunning 18th Cent Combination Table Rushlight with Peerman grip.
I have never seen one quite like this. The pliar grip is to hold the rush and the sideways grip is to hold the furze branch (Peerman) There is attractive twist iron to the curved arm with a counter weight. The lead weight is a later weight added so originally it would either have been lead or stone. I am inclined to think that maybe the iron loop was buried in and encompassed the original lead weight. The wooden base has wonder ful patination.
