Attractive 19th Cent Cast Iron Foot Warmer or Chaufette. These were used on carriages and in drafty cottages to keep the sitters feet warm. Hot coals went inside. They make ideal match holders in a fireplace or double up for keys etc. The cast iron ones can also make garden lanterns by placing a nightlight inside.
