Early Crusie Lamps on adjustable Tramels

Here we have two rare pieces of early cottage lighting:

18th/early19th cent, Double Cup Crusie (wick) Lamp with fan decoaration to cups. Hanging on its original adjustable Hake or Trammel hook. The ratchet hook is beautifully made likewise. This one is 70cm long when not extended NOW SOLD

18th/early19th cent, Single valve Wick Lamp wwith twisted Hombard hook. This one ishanging on its original adjustable Hake or Trammel hook. The ratchet hook is beautifully made likewise. This one is 83cm long when not extended £220

These lamps had fish oil or similar placed in the pans and a simple wick of lint or cloth sat leaning out of the pans and burnt with a single flame. If there is a second cup it was merely to catch any hot drips.

These are especially rare to find with these ratchets hooks complete.
