Antique set of Ox/Cow Shoes

I am told that these shoes were placed on cow's feet when driving them through cobbled streets etc to market.

This is only the second complete set I have seen. They have not been used which is probably why they are still all four together. Used shoes have the upright lug folded over the top of the hoof. I have odd examples of these too.

There is some evidence of old black paint on the ironwork.
