Rare pair of early farm boots, one of two sets I bought (the other's are for my collection)
Both sets were parched when I bought them but have polished up really well. Very seldom seen now apart from in museums. Really good example of early rural footwear. The wooden soles would have been crudely cut to shape and piled high on a clog pile for a year to season before being shaped and refined and made into shoes and boots.
